80 Donald Driver WR

Donald Driver

09/23/2009 – Packers WR Donald Driver will face a non-division opponent in Week 3 at St. Louis. The Rams have allowed 258 passing yards per game in th first two weeks of the season, including three touchdown passes. They rank 25th in the NFL in pass defense.

Driver has 10 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown over the first two weeks and is coming off a six-catch 99-yard performance against the Bengals and remains a viable No. 2 WR option or above-average No. 3 WR for Week 3 against a weak Rams pass defense.

09/08/2009 – Packers WR Donald Driver last caught a touchdown pass against his Week 1 opponent the Bears back in 2006. Last season in two games, Driver caught 10 passes for 123 yards. In the game at Green Bay, he caught four balls for 60.

Driver set the team mark last year with his 6th 1,000-yard receiving season. He has receptions in 111 straight games, the longest streak in club history. While we expect a much better season in 2009, he’s still the team’s No. 2 option behind Greg Jennings. He’s not exactly an old man compared to other veteran receivers, but he’s close, which might turn off some owners from using him. Don’t be one of those owners — consider him a No. 3 option in Week 1.
