09/23/2009 – Packers WR Greg Jennings will face a non-division opponent in Week 3 at St. Louis. The Rams have allowed 258 passing yards per game in th first two weeks of the season, including three touchdown passes. They rank 25th in the NFL in pass defense.
Jennings is not the type of receiver Fantasy owners need incentive to start, but this is a good reason why he should be active in all leagues for Week 3. Jennings dealt with a wrist injury leading up to Week 2 and was held without a catch, but all signs point to a resurgence against the Rams. QB Aaron Rodgers said his timing with Jennings was off in Week 2, leading to the lack of catches.
Green Bay WR Greg Jennings has scored a touchdown against his Week 1 opponent, the Chicago Bears, in three of the last four games he’s played against them, including both games last year. In 2008, Jennings totaled 11 catches against the Bears for 102 yards and two scores. Week 1′s game is at Green Bay and Jennings had 64 yards in the game at Lambeau last year.
Jennings had a career-high 80 catches and 1,292 yards in 2008 for the Packers and is every bit a No. 1 Fantasy WR heading into 2009. Jennings might get his first 100-yard game against the division rival Bears in Week 1 and should be active in most Fantasy leagues.
